Pentax!
I know! It wasn’t even in the running…but I wanted a 12.0 MP camera that wouldn’t break the piggy bank.
Trying to be reasonable about my needs in a camera at this time, I have to remind myself..constantly..that I am not a photographer. Honestly, I want to be happy with the clarity most of all. I don’t need to spend more than the $200.00 I spent on my new red Pentax Optio P70 12.0 MP. It has manual settings – which I love – a four power digital zoom – plenty for me – and I’ll be learning all about my new camera from my paper manual book included! Yes…a two hundred plus page operating manual in English! You be the judge of my photographs. Check it out at http://www.pentaximaging.com/digital-camera/Optio_P70_-_Red/. I have only used it for an hour, at most, but I found it to be user friendly. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery charged quickly, which is great if you are impatient. An optional AC Adapter is available. My cons so far…I can’t leave it on a tripod and access the USB connection, battery or SD card…big deal…I can live with that. It did not come with a SD card, which I didn’t know, or think about. I put in the battery, after charging +/- two hours, turned it on and started taking pictures. An SD card never crossed my mind until I got a screen and sound warning that the internal memory was full. I had taken a lot of photos, and even after I was told the memory was full, I was able to take another.
I’m one who would have ordered this in black, but it wasn’t available. I love the red! It’s a candy apple glossy red…and it will match my Patent Leather pumps!

I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of blogger. I may get an idea and I’ll snap out a few lines to get a thought down, as I am doing now, when I should be downstairs helping with dinner. I didn’t know what a Blog was until June of 2009. Yes…a couple, two or three months ago (depending on when this is published plus a great tie in to my category heading called A Couple Two or Three…but I digress). I like to have draft posts and unpublished photos in my media library to draw on when I don’t have a topic off the top of my head. My goal has been to post at least three times per week, but I’ve been doing more….dinner’s ready…gotta go.

Well, that was delicious…I’ve been posting regularly since my site went live, but I did do research by reading books about Blogs. I will be listing them at a later time. It gave me more confidence about what I want to do with my Blog. Maybe more importantly, I learned what I don’t want to do on my Blog. You won’t find rants against the establishment, political slamming or religious bias. I just get up everyday and try to find some beauty, learn something new, and feel that in some small way that I have had a voice…though..technically I guess that would be a podcast. Oooo. I like that idea! Check back again…

I’m looking to update my digital camera. I currently use an Olympus Stylus 800 with 8.0 mp.
I am torn between a DSLR and another point and shoot. I would like a 12.0 mp and to have manual controls of the aperture and shutter speed.
At this time I have narrowed my choices to a Canon EOS Rebel XSi or the Olympus Stylus-9000.
I would appreciate input from those in the know.
